Quiet Streams
There's something about a quiet stream. This is in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It's in an area where there are little towns and villages and not far from Gatlingburg. I have been to Gatlingburg several times and it's ok going through the shops and what not but I am more of a lover of nature and my favorite times were driving up the mountains or hiking along the streams. I can imagine a cabin with this creek in my back yard yet as much as I love it there are also places at home I enjoy as well.
There is a quiet stream
Where my soul longeth
For its refreshing waters
In a world full of wilderness
May waters break forth
And streams be found in the desert
Streams of living waters
Flowing to my body, soul and spirit
I'm wholly refreshed once again
Take me to that quiet stream
Step by step you're leading me
And by that quiet stream I shall stay

Isaiah 58:11-KJV
"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul
in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a
watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."
I give thanks for arriving
Safely in a new dawn,
For the gift of eyes
To see the world,
The gift of mind
To feel at home
In my life.
The waves of possibility
Breaking on the shore of dawn,
The harvest of the past
That awaits my hunger,
and all the furtherings
This new day will bring.

I'd love to have a log cabin in the mountains like the one in your post. Looking at Nature is more entertaining than looking at souvenirs, that is unless it's a big bear I'm looking at close up!

ReplyDeleteThe stream is beautiful, Cheryl. I agree with you about having something like that in your back yard. So peaceful. I love how you always have scripture and poetry to enhance your photos. Your posts are always a blessing.
