Just a Glimpse

This is a tree that used to be a few years ago but it is no more. It was here in southern Indiana by Patoka Lake near the dam. It is a lovely place to picnic, boat, walk trails, fish or just simply enjoy nature. I really miss the tree. It had a magical storylike feel to it. I could imagine it speaking kindly with a wise old voice. They took many trees down but it makes the lake stand out more and offers more space to fish or hike. There are still woods. Perhaps the tree got damaged more, I am not sure but I wish it could have remained. I hated to see it go.
The second picture is a picture from northern Michigan way up in the part known as the Copper Country. It is so beautiful there. In the old days there were many copper mines most of what is a part of history now.Things continually change but I think it is good to learn about the past and to preserve the memories.
This is on top of Brockway Mountain Drive in the Copper Country, It is breathtakingly beautiful.
Here is a little trivia you may find interesting about Keewinah County in Upper Michigan. They always get a lot of snow and sometimes mind boggling amounts but it is a beautiful place.
I'm sure my eyes have only seen a tiny glimpse of all the beauty this world has to hold and can only imagine what Heaven must be like.

Treasures in Creation

Beyond the highest star You reign, in places my eyes have never seen You reign,
Surpassing knowledge of mankind and all that science hopes to find.
Beyond life's greatest mysteries, within the depths of the great sea,
The treasure of Your wisdom beacons, come and learn of me.
Cheryl
Romans 11:33 -36 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counselor? Or who has first given to him, and it shall be recompensed to him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
I love the lakes and the seas. The Great Lakes are like inland seas except they are fresh water. We enjoyed time by both Lake Superior and Lake Michigan on our travels last week. Theses are a few of the photos. I wrote the poem a few years ago. It seems fitting.

My Heart is Full

We are home and my heart is full.
I am busy unpacking and had to take a break toupload some of the photos. I think I will have plenty to keep me busy for awhile. It's a funny thing that as much fun it is to travel and see far away family and beautiful places it is always great to get back home as well.
The Key 🔑 To Simplicity
Sometimes smooth , sometimes bumpy, rolling along the highway, trying to occupy my mind as my legs grow restless. Some of the scenery doesn’t change for hours , after awhile it’s all the same. What can I do but stay strapped in and enjoy the ride?
I know the destination leads me home Where at last I can unpack this over packed van. Why did I take so much along with me? What matters the most is really the key, The people I love and the beauty I see. Cheryl Lynn

We are spending a couple nights in Mackinaw City Michigan on the way up to Michigans Upper Peninsula. It is beautiful here snd the temperature is in the low 70s Tommorrow we are going across the bridge to the place I grew up to visit my family. I especially cannot wait to visit my sister who had a heart attack last month. We are very close and every day is a gift. I am so thankful she is on the mend.

More Shadows and sights

Oliver is learning new words all the time now that he is two. He learned more about shadows tonight. He likes seeing his shadow and he can say the word. I hope you all are doing wonderful. I have children and grandkids here a lot. One of my sons started a job here close and has to work through the week here and travel home on the weekend until they find a home here. It doesn't pay to rush. Sometimes a grandchild or two spends the week. It's a fun busy but summer is flying by,
These photos look like pure joy to me. It is my oldest granddaughters when they were little. Water parks and children go well together. So much fun!

It's been a while since I was there. It's pretty there and smells like fudge mmm
These are my grand daughters in their younger days at the museum. They are on an adventure. I guess I will be too very soon Sorry I haven't blogged much lately. I seem to have people over a lot and summer is flying by but it's all good!
