Keep Dancing

The flowers along the roadside are from earlier in the year. They are on the way to the little bridge I walk to on a country road.
This photo is at a small lake just a few minutes drive from my house. I miss the BIG Lake Superior that I would spend so much time at growing up but there is something charming about a small lake and I find being by the water very peaceful.
Every season has it's beauty. This is winter time at one of my favorite walking places.
I am jumping around from season to season here in no particular order and blogging simply to blog with no particular subject. It helps clear the cobwebs in my brain and get the thoughts to flowing. Do you see what I see up there in the grass?
This is one of my grand daughters. She stuck the bucket on her head being silly. I added the smile and eyes here on a computer paint program. Sometimes I feel like sticking a bucket over my head as well. Big Smile now!
And since this blog has no particular subject it is subject to change at any time. The above is me making sure everything sparkles and shines to the adoring eyes of my husband who is polishing our car. NOT! This is only a dream! I have been attending a ladies Bible Studay on Thursday and we are on the Proverbs 31 chapter. If you have a little Bible knowledge you will also know that the woman in the chapter was amazing to say the least. To compare myself with her is rather scary.

Proverbs 31:10-31

King James Version (KJV)

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Of anyone in my life my own Grandmother seemed the closest to the Proverbs woman. She is going to be 99 in a few weeks, an amazing woman with lots of stories.

Grandma had 8 girls and 2 boys and raised a nephew and a niece when she was needed. She never drove a car but she walked to the grocery carrying back a sack full of groceries on each hip. When the children were older they helped. She had a hard life in a lot of ways . Mom has some sad stories about growing up as well as happier ones. Salvation Army was a big help at Christmas. They brought gifts for Grandma's large family. Later in life and I mean much later Grandma joined the Salvation Army. She was even fitted for the officers suit and hat. She was in her late 70s or early 80s when she got that.

Grandma is one of the heroes in my life the one who was always giving even though she was never rich in earthly possesions. I went up to visit her at the nursing home when I was in MI this summer. She would take my hand and kiss it and smile. She kissed me on the cheek and she smiled a lot. We had tea and cookies together. My Grandma is so beautiful.
I don't even know how to end this blog since it is just bits and pieces of whatever comes to my mind. The above picture is my son and his wife several years ago. It is a little while before he had to go away for awhile. The farthest place he went to was Iraq. He was blessed with safety.

This is a quote I read today by an unknown author
"Don’t confuse your path with your destination.
Just because it’s stormy now doesn’t mean
you aren’t headed for sunshine."

Keep dancing!
This song was popular a few years ago , maybe more.

A Country Glimpse

This is a little glimpse of one of the quiet places that I love.
I like to stop and notice things like these wild flowers growing close to the Lake.
This is me and my husband. I'm the one to walk or take pictures. He is the one to catch fish, then I take photos of him catching the fish! It's the simple things that bring peace and contentment. My heart will always be country. Big cities are fun to visit sometimes but my heart always returns home where the pace is slower.

                                                                 Goodnight !

Just goofing off here trying to learn how to use blogger. I tried to add a video but it kept circling around and around..

Sunshine and Shadows

Without going into too much detail  I can tell you that the past few days have been difficult but God has not promised that every step along the path will be easy. Sometimes when I hike I will carry a small backpack. I carried one when my family climbed Sugar Loaf Mountain in Marquette this summer. All I had in it was a water bottle and a snack along with some extra batteries for the camera. My family likes to add some of their things into my backpack which adds to the weight a little. In life there are some situations that feel like an up hill battle. It gets hard. I realize that there is scripture that says God will never give us more than we can bear, sometimes I have trouble comprehending that , especially when I see loved ones suffer. I want to fix things and I can't. It is so hard to watch those we care for struggle. If anyone tells me life is fair I would have to disagree. Some of the worst things happen to good people, sometimes it is from things that can't be helped such as a natural disaster, illness or accident that leaves us with a thousand questions. Faith  tells us God is good and that the afflictions of this life are so small compared to eternity and the weight of glory. There are other times however where people make bad choices and have to go through a long and difficult process because of them. It  hurts us when we love the person and we pray for healing and restoration but if anyone is like I am there are times I would carry some of their burden or wipe away the suffering if I could. But I cannot. I can assist and offer help to bear the burden but there are times that I am not meant to carry the weight I try to put in my spiritual type of backpack and I get overwhelmed and weary. God promises not to give us more than we can bear but sometimes we take on more than we are suppose to.

The Bible says "Casting all your cares upon Him for He careth for you" in 1 Peter 5:7. Got anything that is weighing you down? Is your heart aching and breaking for a loved one who is suffering? Are you suffering? There is a place where you can rest and pour out your heart before God. Just tell Him what troubles you and He won't be shocked. He knows. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. Nothing can separate us from His love.

I have had a prayer answered today for a person dear and near to me who has struggled for so long with depression and negative ways of dealing with it. It has been so hard to see the struggles. Although the struggles are not instantly over  this loved one has made positive steps to recieve help. There is a journey  and I hope somehow and someway that I can encourage along the way.

This blog is set so that a lot of people can see it thus the lack of specifics is needed but if you have someone you love struggling with depression don't give up . Keep praying but accept the fact that some things get better through a painful process. This is my little pep talk mostly to myself . I have experienced depression in my own life and sometimes I still battle it. It has been a very difficult year . If there is anything that you can relate to please be encouraged. Positive break throughs happen, dark clouds can be parted and the sun shines through.

Hope everyone has a great week. I've got a good start cleaning my house this afternoon. Yay! Just love when the mood hits. When it does I get at least twice as much done as when I force myself.

Sunlit Pathway

I just love when I actually capture some pictures of these big brown squirrels. They can be swift to move as people approach yet there are some along the river walk who seem accustomed to the foot traffic passing by. Sometimes I stand quietly at this favorite feeding place of theirs and watch them. It appears I also am being watched for any quick movements. They don't seem to enjoy staying in place when people walk by with their dogs or joggers and runners come through. I guess my camera isn't so much of a threat.

Today is suppose to be a nice comfortable 82 degrees. That sounds nice! The summer has been above the normal temperatures , dry and hot. There were many times we welcomed a 90 something degree day as a cool down.

This is one of my favorite places to sit along the trail. This photo is from a previous year. We have not experienced the Autumn colors yet but they are just around the corner!

When I was considering what to title my new blog here I wanted it to reflect who I am and what I love so I named it sunlit pathway. As I walk the trails I usually always have my camera along with me. I can see much of the same scenes everyday yet they can appear different depending on the color of the sky and the way the sunshine and shadows fall upon the pathway. I love to take pictures of the sunshine through the trees.

Every season has a beauty all of it's own. There is something about the color of the golden leafs that make this look like a wonderland to me.

Here is a poem I wrote yesterday.

Restoration

There is a quiet place where God His beauty shows ,
This sanctuary has no walls and yet God's Spirit flows.
I hear the sound of rustling leafs and feel the gentle breeze,
My eyes behold Creation's design , my spirit is fed by the Divine.

Cheryl Nunn

I think we all need a quiet place from time to time. Have a great day !

Sunday

Good morning! This may be short because it is my 3rd try to post and I NEED to get busy. Please have patience with me while I am learning and I pray God gives me patience with myself! It was a beautiful weekend. My husband and I went to our oldest son's then to a State Park here in Indiana. It was a fluffy white clouds blue sky kind of day!
Our youngest son works at the Park. He is a college student and school began again today but he will still be able to work part time at the park on weekends and I think maybe one or 2 weekdays when he has night classes. It is seasonal though but it will get him to November.

What better place to work than at a beautiful park? He does however have some stinky messes to clean up sometimes and it is amazing how some people trash the camp sites they stay at! Still, it is a very nice work place and a good start for him with the DNR.
It was quite different than Saturday. Saturday my husband and I went to Holiday World with the kids and grandkids and it was a very busy place! The weekends are like that there but it was so much fun to see the excitment in the kids faces getting to ride the roller coasters, water coasters and much more! They went on the Mammoth for the first time. It is a very long water coaster the longest in the world they say. I took some pictures on my cell phone but I don't know how to get them to the computer .

Sunday we sat around and were lazy until we mustered up enough enery to hike a little.
This is my youngest son .
This is my husband and our oldest grand daughter.
This is the picture I took of our hiking group. It's my oldest grandson there in the lead!

The boat rental cabin at Lincoln. The water is down way low this year from our southern Indiana drought!
This is Caleb who can always find something interesting and look very cute doing it!
This is my daughter (Caleb's cheek pinching Aunt!)

Hope you all have a great week!

Blue skies are smiling at me today! Hope they smile on you too!

Willie Nelson Blue Skies Lyrics
Songwriters: STONE, ANGELA / BRIGHT, DAVID VINCENT
Blue skies smilin' at me
Nothin' but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singin' a song
Nothin' but bluebirds all day long

Never saw the sun shinin' so bright
Never saw things goin' so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days, all of them gone
Nothin' but blue skies from now on
(Blue skies smilin' at me
Nothin' but blue skies do I see)

Never saw the sun shinin' so bright
Never saw things goin' so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days, all of them gone
Nothin' but blue skies from now on
Nothin' but blue skies from now on

Just Getting Started Here on Blogger

Good morning! I really have no idea what I am doing on Blogger so I figured the best way to get a clue is to simply experiment a little. The photo is actually from last year however it is starting to look a bit like this now late into the summer. I think the touch of red is pretty.

This summer has been very dry so the leafs have not been as fresh and green. We have had drought conditions and much of the crops have failed to produce or have been poor quality.

I know school has started from the bus going down the street to pick up the neighborhood children but my own children are grown . The youngest works part time and attends college. He is home for a little while anyways.

It looks like a beautiful morning from this part of the world. What is it like where you are?

Also does anyone know a good way to import blogs from a dying site such as Multiply? I'm not sure if I will even bother with it but maybe.

Have a great weekend!
