This photo is at a small lake just a few minutes drive from my house. I miss the BIG Lake Superior that I would spend so much time at growing up but there is something charming about a small lake and I find being by the water very peaceful.
Every season has it's beauty. This is winter time at one of my favorite walking places.
I am jumping around from season to season here in no particular order and blogging simply to blog with no particular subject. It helps clear the cobwebs in my brain and get the thoughts to flowing. Do you see what I see up there in the grass?
This is one of my grand daughters. She stuck the bucket on her head being silly. I added the smile and eyes here on a computer paint program. Sometimes I feel like sticking a bucket over my head as well. Big Smile now!
And since this blog has no particular subject it is subject to change at any time. The above is me making sure everything sparkles and shines to the adoring eyes of my husband who is polishing our car. NOT! This is only a dream! I have been attending a ladies Bible Studay on Thursday and we are on the Proverbs 31 chapter. If you have a little Bible knowledge you will also know that the woman in the chapter was amazing to say the least. To compare myself with her is rather scary.
Proverbs 31:10-31
King James Version (KJV)
10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Of anyone in my life my own Grandmother seemed the closest to the Proverbs woman. She is going to be 99 in a few weeks, an amazing woman with lots of stories.
Grandma had 8 girls and 2 boys and raised a nephew and a niece when she was needed. She never drove a car but she walked to the grocery carrying back a sack full of groceries on each hip. When the children were older they helped. She had a hard life in a lot of ways . Mom has some sad stories about growing up as well as happier ones. Salvation Army was a big help at Christmas. They brought gifts for Grandma's large family. Later in life and I mean much later Grandma joined the Salvation Army. She was even fitted for the officers suit and hat. She was in her late 70s or early 80s when she got that.
Grandma is one of the heroes in my life the one who was always giving even though she was never rich in earthly possesions. I went up to visit her at the nursing home when I was in MI this summer. She would take my hand and kiss it and smile. She kissed me on the cheek and she smiled a lot. We had tea and cookies together. My Grandma is so beautiful.
I don't even know how to end this blog since it is just bits and pieces of whatever comes to my mind. The above picture is my son and his wife several years ago. It is a little while before he had to go away for awhile. The farthest place he went to was Iraq. He was blessed with safety.
This is a quote I read today by an unknown author
"Don’t confuse your path with your destination.
Just because it’s stormy now doesn’t mean
you aren’t headed for sunshine."
Keep dancing!
