I love Spring except for the storms. We’ve been hit by wind storms and flooding this year yet Spring  has soft delicate blossoms , the beauty of new life

i saw this little photo on a turtle page I like. I posted it on my FB

I’m a world where there is a lot of noise and people rushing it’s always good to pause and find a quiet place. I posted the link to the site where I found these words about gentle and quiet spirit at the start of my blog tonight.

Quiet

A quiet spirit is a heart that can pause, that can intentionally focus on the present, be in the moment and enjoy the simplicity of life. It’s a heart that can release control to God and surrender to Him.

A quiet spirit does not mean you just shut up and never talk. A quiet spirit is deeper than your words. You can never speak a word and your soul will be just as restless.

A quiet spirit is a mind that has nothing to prove, nothing to gain, nothing to lose. It doesn't worry about yesterday or tomorrow. It's a heart that can trust God to be God and surrender its limitations to God’s greater power.

I’ve been thinking about life and how the simple things are the most precious  This last weekend we went to our grandsons soccer game. He’s only 4 and looks so little but he had fun and so did we. Baby brother was there too!

Tomorrow is our anniversary 48 years already! I’m thankful for my husband and how he cares for me and our family.

God has been good. His mercies are new every morning.

  7. Hello Cheryl, visiting you today from Terri D's blog, but we met during one of your visits to Florida in the past year (I don't remember exactly when that was). I delighted in the graphic you shared about the turtle. Just a few days ago my husband rescued a very large turtle from the middle of a busy intersection here inside our +55 community. The fella had managed to stop traffic in all directions. We came across the situation while on our usual morning bike ride. My husband parked his bike off to the side and dealt with the turtle, in large part because it was easier for him to do it than the people in their cars. He placed him in the grass, pointed in the direction of the nearest lake, about 2 blocks ahead. When he finished our bike ride about 45 minutes later, the turtle was nowhere to be seen, so we hope his instincts led him closer to the lake. He was quite heavy and slippery on the bottom, so my husband could not carry him all the way to water. I looked up this turtle on the Internet and found that he is quite aggressive in nature. He was pretty helpless as Gary carried him, but Gary also approached him from behind, which was probably a really good idea.

Anyway, just wanted to share that. I hope your Memorial Day is going well.
