Poem for mom, written years ago. Happy Mother's Day Everyone!
Through Mother's Eyes
There is a place of greatness looking through a mother's eyes
That looks beyond the struggles to the promise of the prize.
A place of faith and confidence birthed from a look that sparkles
and shines,
As without a word you know she is proud.
There is a place in her heart that holds the treasure
of the first Noble accomplishments.
There may be drawers or cedar chests filled
with pages crumbled and worn with time of a small child's
first crayon drawing.
But unlike that drawer a mother's heart is never too small
to hold each new treasure.
There is a gentleness in a mothers touch from the first days
she held her new born baby that continues through the years.
She has lovingly bandaged scraped knees and wiped away the tears.
Mother's hands also prepared the meals and held the broom to sweep the floor,
Mother's hands were hands that worked
but mother's hands were so much more.
Mother's hands caressed the fevered brow of her little one
her voice tenderly speaking words of concern.
There is a loveliness in a mother's voice as she calls out to her
Heavenly Father on behalf of each child
and her prayers rise like a sweet perfume as she calls them each by name.
There is a beauty in the face of a godly mother
that shows that she has spent time at the feet of her Savior.
There is a faith that carries her gracefully above
the storms of life.
When the years pass by and the days of bandaging a small child's
cuts and scrapes have passed,
when the challenges get bigger and hearts are sometimes broken
there is a calm assurance that she has taught her family the ways of the Lord and
that the promises of His Word are yes and amen.
There are so many memories of days gone by that sometimes
brings tears to our eyes.
The heart of a godly mother holds not back
for her heart is a giving heart
With each bedtime prayer and word of encouragement, each hug ,
and every smile a mother imparts into her children
an unselfish love.
Like the seeds that are sown in the Spring and watered by
the gentle rain from heaven so are the deeds of a godly mother.
The labor of love she invests continues to blossom
though time goes on and life brings change.
The life of a godly mother reflects the hope that sets us free
to take those first steps to become what God wants us to be.
And as we run the race before us let us be mindful of the prize
The high calling of Christ Jesus
that we've seen through mother's eyes. (Mom I love you & thank God for you)

I will love you forever Mom. I miss you so much!
And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy
children. Isaiah 54:13
It has been 2 years now without Mom but her influence in my life lives on and she is always in my heart. I have been blessed! The last photo was taken just a couple months before she went to be with Jesus . It is my brother and sister and I.
