Celebrating family and Florida life

I feel really blessed to be here but concerned for friends and family back in Indiana. It seems very likely there is a major winter storm on the way with 10 to 16 inches of snow! Cancellations are in progress. I know some northern places often get a lot of snow like my family in Marquette Michigan but for southern Indiana it’s rarely more than a few inches. The storm is wide spread .  It’s 80 degrees here today which is wonderful!

We stopped at the Christian school where my daughter in law and two oldest twins work and saw our son Justin on this his birthday. He does a lot of volunteering and he was helping to set up a nice swing set on the playground. It was hot there in the sun! I told my husband when we left how I think Justin grew up to be such a nice man.  He really cares for his family and for others Tonight we are going to an Italian restaurant to celebrate his birthday.

I love my family and am thrilled to be here spending time with my Florida grandkids . God bless them all.

Angie Justin’s wife works with special needs kids and loves it a lot. Her kids mean a lot to her.

The girls work part time helping in various ways and also volunteer. It was hard when they left Indiana but I’m so grateful to see how God is continually working things together for their good!

They don’t miss the cold weather but they do miss Indiana sometimes. They lived way up in northern Indiana by Lake Michigan before so they had snow there for sure!

Today my husband Pat and I ate outside at the Garden Bustro .This is my kind of winter lol. It was so beautiful and lunch was good.

Last night we walked by Lake Hollingsworth and saw a beautiful sunset. Feeling so blessed!

    1. Yes it’s so nice and tonight we sat outside on the patio of an Italian restaurant with family. We could never do that in January at home. Meanwhile in Indiana my family has stocked up on groceries . I hope they don’t get too much ice but a lot of places are closing work and church services

  2. I am glad that you are down here in sunny Florida and not having to deal with the winter storm, but I know you are concerned for your family back home. Praying they will all be safe and warm. It looks like a really nasty storm in the more southern parts where there will a lot of ice. We are truly thankful to be here in Florida. Your pictures are beautiful. I know you are enjoying being with your family here. What a blessing that you picked this particular time to come!! (((HUGS))) and prayers for all affected...

  3. As you have heard, I'm sure, Florida will be getting cold again in another day or so. But with that said, this is still preferable to what your Indiana neighbors are experiencing. I'm glad you're able to be down here and to enjoy it.

    1. Yes I saw that on the weather map but at least not snow and ice. At home we have 14 inches of snow so far and they say more on the way. Last Sunday was pretty cold here . It was 60 something in the am but when we got out of church it was windy drizzly and freezing! Today is very nice. I’m enjoying it

    1. So glad you are getting better. Yesterday was hot we went to circle B and saw alligators on alligator alley with Amelia. Back home they are up to 19 inches of snow now and my son had to shovel his car out and work on his driveway this am. His work is called off from weather though. It feels like below zero weathers in the single digits which means snow is not going anywhere soon! Let me know when you feel ok for lunch or a visit.
