I was just thinking this am about the little moments in life and the decisions we make sometimes just really spontaneous. The first pic is a golden retriever one of my favorite dogs. My parents has a golden retriever named Tasha and I loved her so. She was sweet and gentle and pretty. When I learned my art teacher was in the hospital a ways back his wife posted an address to send him cards. I thought I should do this to cheer him up getting a card from one of his former high school students. I saw one with a pretty golden retriever on it and though I looked at others I went back and chose that card. I wrote something in it about hoping Cute puppy would bring a smile to him. Later I found out he was a dog lover and really liked golden retriever’s. Small things can mean a lot.
I’m trying to work on my weight and health like many of us do the start of the year and I am reminded that small consistent steps produce the best rewards. If something sounds too good to be true it often is. I’m leaning on proverbs 3:5,6 to trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding, in all my ways to acknowledge him and he will direct my steps. I can’t go wrong with that , praying for wisdom. Small steady steps mean something, daily steps not just waiting for tomorrow to have discipline. God is so good. He’s provided all we need!
The second picture is a hummingbird at my sisters. The pic is blurry sorry but for real it was beautiful and amazing. My sister loves flowers and had many hummers at once. My sister is tiny but strong! She’s only 4,10” and slender but Gods brought her through open heart surgery and she’s doing well. I think I wrote about her here a long time ago. I would ask you to pray for her husband who is having a pacemaker put in today. He hasn’t been well for awhile due to irregular heart so this should help.
It’s so amazing what can be done to help people it’s a relatively simple procedure and he goes home the same day! I’m amazed.
They have been buried in snow there but thankfully able to get out again. They just had 20 inches of snow last week and 4 days power outage. Thankfully they had a wood burning stove to keep warm and family close to help.
That’s way too much snow for me! My sister boiled melted snow to wash her dishes and lots of snow to melt lol!
Sometimes life’s tough but all the little kindnesses we offer help.

AMEN to the graphic about the value of kindness. It really is lacking at times. I am praying for both your sister and your BIL. There may be a pacemaker in my hubby's future, although the doctor says not just yet. I was encouraged to read it doesn't require a lengthy hospital stay. And yes, small, consistent steps are the key to change. The Lord bless you!
ReplyDeleteThank you and God bless you too. Update he is through the surgery and they are having him stay an extra night which to me seems better after a heart procedure of any kind. Im sure it will help him , hes been very tired and having scary episodes
ReplyDeleteYes to kindness. It goes a long way in both good and bad situations. You are one of the kindest people I know, Cheryl. I'm looking forward to seeing you down here, once you get settled and have time!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a LOT of snow! I'm glad your BIL is doing okay after the pacemaker surgery. Praying he will do well with that wonderful invention helping him. My mother had one (years ago), and it certainly helped her. I love the photo of the cute puppy. He really is sweet, and I'm sure your teacher loved that card back in the day. Who wouldn't love a cute puppy? And the hummingbird is so special. I hope you are doing well and staying warm and cozy. God has certainly brought you through a lot and you are doing wonderfully now. Praise the Lord. Happy New Year to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI love golden Retrievers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteThe small things and acts of kindness should always be celebrated, Cheryl. We have gone through the whole pacemaker business with Danny, so I will be praying for your BIL. It certainly has been a miracle in keeping Danny's heart beating. Blessings!
