Sunshine and Flowers

We had no idea what challenges the future held when we took this selfie the January my husband retired. We had fun travel plans and more leisurely days which we have enjoyed some but we wouldn’t have dreamed I’d be diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and ovarian cancer in October 2022. It’s been quite a journey but we’ve had the support and love of family and friends and faith and prayers have carried us through the darkest times. The nurses in oncology have been angels as were they in the hospital after my recent surgery. I have had a great oncologist who actually prayed with us after each visit and one of the finest surgeons. Today June 4 is National Cancer Survivors Day. June 1st the doctor told me my labs were great after surgery, the cancer marker was normal. I am in remission! I still have follow up visits and labs and a short infusion of a cancer blocker hercepton each month. It just takes 30 mins better than the minimum of 4 hour chemo treatments. I’m blessed! I don’t know or understand why things happen and my healing wasn’t the way I hoped but it was Gods ways. I wanted it to miraculously leave and no treatments but I have had tests and chemo and shots and surgery. God also works through men and women who have been trained to help the sick. It’s a gift. God bless the doctors and specialists and nurses and God bless all who have shown so much love. I pray to be able to bless others as I was blesssed.

I am so very sorry you had to go through this. But so very glad that you are in remission now!! Even with no hair you are beautiful. Both inside and out.
ReplyDeleteSo very thankful to hear the good news, that you are in remission and hopefully on your way back to good health and peace and life! Thank you for sharing your story with us. We don't understand why these things happen, but isn't it wonderful when we know Who holds our future, and Who is holding our hand when we go through these deep waters? I know God has never left your side, and we give thanks to Him for bringing you safely through to the other side. Praise God!!
ReplyDeleteDear Cheryl!! This is the best news and made my day!! I am so happy for you and for your family. You and Pat have been in my daily prayers and I will continue with that as you transition through the infusions. God is so good, all the time.
