Cash For Clunkers?

Good afternoon. I am home on a quiet afternoon and keeping my eye on the weather as it is suppose to get windy and stormy later. Severe weather happens this time of the year but prayerfully all will be well. I took a short walk with Nanook because I did not want to get caught in anything. I didn't drive to the Thursday ladies Bible study today because I only drove the truck once so far and it's hard enough to start and not all that smooth of a ride. Once again I didn't want trouble out and about in the weather. There was a time people were trading in older trucks for cash off new cars. The whole trouble with that is not everyone can get a new car and it was a little sick seeing some of the nicer vans and trucks sitting ready to be demolished. They may have been a blessing to someone and not a bad thing. Sure gas is high but not all can pay for a new car or even get a loan. My son had a hard time finding a reasonable vehicle with a family of 8 could get around in. He doesn't have much choice than to get a big vehicle for a family car. Anyways he has some kind of club wagon now and it is older but in nice shape. My husband and I bought our youngest son Eric's truck from him because he needed a small non gas guzzler to drive to work. It works for us just driving to the dump or places like Home Depot and it really works now since we have to figure out what to do about a car, thankfully my husband has a company car he drives to and from work and on his business calls.

This is our truck. It actually doesn't look so bad in the driveway especially behind pretty flowering trees!

It looks like the sun is a little brighter right now than earlier but the morning was pleasant enough.

I am delighted to see my lilacs in bloom!

This is my pretty Nanook waiting for her walk.

And at the park

Nanook looks for mice and moles and whatever is in holes I look at flowers and scenery.

She also likes to roll on the ground, sometimes where it stinks! I have to watch out for that.

Back home again. Let me in, it surely must be snack time!

  1. Love your pictures from your walk today. Also, your truck isnt a bad one....like you said, at least it runs. Hope the rest of your day is a good one.

  3. I was expecting a much older vehicle. Seeing Nanook rolling reminds me of my friend's dog, Charlie a white poodle. This happened years ago when I was looking after him while she was on holiday. We were in the park behind where I lived, and since it was a nice day there were some policemen on horses. Charlie was about to roll in some fresh horse manure. Luckily, I got to him in time! Nanook is a lovely, lovely dog.
