Post Vacation Driving The Clunk Truck

Good afternoon! I'm happy to see that the weather is warmer and all the beautiful flowering trees blooming as well as the soft gentle colors of spring. I'm trying to get something done today but I can't seem to get that surge of energy that helps so it's been a little here and there as I type to the sound of the washer and dryer. My husband and I went to Gatlingburg and surrounding areas on our 36 anniversary trip.

This little bear made it home with us , this little car was left behind.

That 2 liter pop bottle that I forgot in the pocket of the backseat came in handy. I had water in it for my dog Nanook when we take walks. Our engine light was flashing and the car was overheating. We were next to a nice cool mountain stream so my husband refilled the bottle with cold water. We didn't make it to Cape Cove like we set out to do on our way out but on angel wings and prayers we managed to make it all the way to a motel in Alcoa TN. We parked and the car was finished, head gasket went out. This could be good or bad and I suppose it is both. It is good we never broke down the times we were heading up the mountains or in the valley surrounded by wilderness. We arrived safe to a destination we didn't choose but was a godsend. Now we have the not so fun decisions to make about retrieving the car from the garage we had it towed to. The man dropped the price per day to store it because of our situation.

Regardless of the troubles we had a delightful time for the first 3 days. We saw beautiful scenery and did fun things. I even braved the sky lift in Gatlingburg to see the splendid view.

There are so many photos I took and the experiences were wonderful and in a weird way even the car deal wasn't totally bad for we experienced God's protection and provision .

Today I took a test drive of our clunker truck. Oh it's a beauty! LOL. Nanook and I went to the Armory Park. It was rather scary driving it, I wouldn't take it far . She was happy to go for a ride and a walk. She likes her window open and her head hanging out.

There were such pretty little flowers!

I guess we had to come down from the mountains sometime. Everyday life awaits!

Sometimes things circle around though and perhaps we shall return but hopefully without car troubles!

I'll probably continue some day soon with more photos.
Have a good day!

  2. How awful about the car, but praise God you made it safely, and could go on to enjoy your anniversary trip! I've ridden on that lift in Gatlinburg - it was years ago, but I remember how beautiful it was. Love your photos, and Nanook is so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
