It is a quiet afternoon. The sun is shining, and the snow is melting but it still feels a bit cold to stay out long. There is something about this month of February. It is a short month, but it seems long. I guess I get Spring fever.
The birds are chirping a lot. I'm sure they are aware Spring is just around the bend. I am dreaming of the beauty of Spring. I planted daffodil bulbs this last Autumn. I can't wait to see their bright colors soon!
When I get a little down, I have to remind myself to make the most out of today and to press on through these late winter blues.
There is a song I like called Alive and Breathing sung by Matt Maher and this is a portion of it,
"Joy still comes in the morning, hope still walks with the hurting, If you're still alive and
Breathing, praise the Lord
Don't stop dancing and dreaming, there's still Good News worth repeating, so lift your head and keep singing, Praise the Lord!"

It's a choice to be thankful and to find things that are praiseworthy. I feel blessed to live where I can enjoy the beauty of nature. I take pictures through the window when I don't want to go out in the cold/ I have a bird feeder at the end of the patio, I like to zoom in up close and see what I can see. Until I had the camera I have now I couldn't see the detail. I love the bright red male cardinals, but I never realized how pretty the females were as well. Here are a couple pictures of my little winter visitors.
Here is a poem I wrote a couple years ago. I like to start some seeds in the house in late February or early March to watch the new life begin to emerge. It makes me happy and stirs up the hope of good things to come!
Dear friend, you don't know how I needed to read this tonight! You have lifted me up more than you could know!! I'm so glad you have come back!! Love & hugs!
