You've Got a Friend in Me

It's been fun to do a little Blog surfing and find positive reinforcement still exists despite the challenges that have come to us all in the last couple years. Personally, I need some time away from the news and drama which can damper the spirit to as the old saying goes, "Stop and smell the flowers" I've been reading about the simple, ordinary things of life from feeding birds to cooking, inspirational stories and cute and funny stories about family life, children and grandchildren.

What we project to others generally returns to us, so it is my hope to shine the light of kindness and show genuine interest in connecting with others and being inspired by them. The older I get I find there is always something new to learn. Life gets really boring when we fail to explore the new things that God has for us each day and to be a friend to those who He has placed in our path. I call my blog Sunlit Pathway because I pray for God's light to infiltrate and light the way before me. I am reminded of my walks, especially through the wooded areas and the way the light looks over the trees and on the trails. Spring is my favorite time of the year. Everything is so fresh and gentle green and there are new wildflowers to enjoy. We go through so many seasons in our life's. Sometimes they seem to not be in any particular order, one day we can be sailing along on smooth waters and the next day it may feel like our world is shaken and we need reassurance and strength to get through to whatever the next thing is.  I'm grateful for the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Lord in my life and for His mercy that is new every morning. I'm thankful for the friends who I have known for years and for the ones I am just meeting or haven't met yet.

The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18

I found this cute song on YouTube, hope you enjoy it

Wishing you a day surrounded by the light of God and friendships that grow in His Love.

  1. Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for stopping at my blog. I have enjoyed y visit here. I appreciate your commitment to being upbeat and you've succeeded. I also avoid the news for the same reason. Do you live in Michigan? I saw the Lake Superior info in your introduction. I about 20 minutes from Lake Michigan in southwest Michigan. I also enjoy photography and many of the books you listed.
I've listened to that father/daughter duo many times and I think that song is one of their best.
    I'll be back!
PS - I have a sister whose name is also Cheryl, spelled with a C.

    1. Thank you for stopping by also. I used to blog but got out of touch with it and recently made a comeback here.
I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I moved to Indiana a year after my husband, and I got married and we have raised our family here.
One of our grown children lives in northern Indiana close to Lake Michigan. It's fun to visit in the summer and get out by the beautiful water.
      Nice to make your acquaintance!
