Florida, Food , Fun and Friendly People
We took a ride back to the AZALEA GARDEN the Sunday after we got home. This Monday is a rainy day, good to unpack suitcases, do laundry, and write this blog.
We are back from our journey to Florida with grateful hearts.
We have enjoyed some fine dining and beautiful places but the people were amazing too. They were so kind and polite, we both noticed that. Some of the places were very busy yet we were welcomed and greeted with a smile and pleasant words. We felt like it mattered that we were there, unfortunately that is not always the case in many places. Sometimes I feel like I am a number and a bother. It is so refreshing to be treated nicely. I know that goes both ways. I was once a waitress and it is not always easy. It can be stressful and people can be mean but oh how refreshing to hear kind words from patient customers!
I tried seafood. I am not really used to it but when you are by the sea it seems fitting. The Back Porch in Destin was our favorite. Even desert was amazing!
Seriously everywhere we went from the smaller less known nature trails and small parks to the hotels and museums the people should get 5 stars for friendliness.
My husband and I had a pleasant conversation with a gentleman who was walking on a trail we were on. He talked about his dad being a naturalist snd his love for conservation. We talked of places we have traveled in Florida and other states as well. He gave us suggestions of places we may enjoy and we went to some.
It is interesting how you meet certain people and theres a feeling like you could be friends. At least we were friends for that time in history. Some people just make you feel better about mankind.
I hope I make others feel treasured as well.

Your vacation time in Florida was truly a time of blessing for you both, Cheryl. I loved your photos, too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, we can meet unexpected friends in a variety of circumstances. Just think of it as a gift from God, no matter how temporary.
Blessings!

We haven't done much traveling in the panhandle, but you make me wish we would. It looks lovely! Thank you for sharing. Glad you are back home safely now. Blessings to you all.
