Some Favorite Places
Some of the most joyful times times for me are when I am in a quiet place. I love the ocean, forests, lakes, streams and waterfalls.
This is the waterfall at the Azalea Path here in southern Indiana. It is so very beautiful there.
I like to see the butterflies. They can be rather difficult to capture a photo of sometimes because they flutter away so fast when I get near but I managed to get these.
My husband took this surprise photo of me walking at the Oak Mountain State Park. We stopped there for awhile on the trip home from Destin, Florida. It was very beautiful.
This is at one of the overlooks. It was so green and such a pretty day.
Some Lake pictures from the park
I also love the wildflowers on the trails.
There's just something about being outside in nature that brings such calmness to me. It truly is inspiring, refreshing the mind and soul.
The photos are in no particular order . I just wanted to sare some of my favorite places from this Spring.
Another one from the Azalea Path. They had these really cute wood carvings.
And quiet places to sit , relax and reflect on the good things in life.
From the beauty of the sea to quiet walking places and the fields and farms up the road from where I live there is so much beauty to be seen and the songs that nature sings if we take time to listen.
Sometimes the feeling that I get walking and taking in the beauty of nature makes me wish that I could capture a little piece of time to return to when I am feeling discouraged and can't get out. As far back as I can remember being outdoors and quiet walks have
re- energized me. To me there is so much inspiration in the beauty of creation.
Mother Teresa wrote this poem : LIFE
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.
Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Such beauty and miracles of nature! I think my favorite is the one with the bench by the pond. This post reminds me of the bible quote to "Be still & know that I am God".
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that verse also
DeleteI would love to walk with you here. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love to get outside. Spring time is great except for my eye allergies which are tolerable. I'd like to walk together thanks for stopping by
DeleteI love that poem by Mother Teresa, Cheryl! When I am out in nature, just like you, that's where I meet the peace and tranquility of God's presence. Part of my daily routine, unless it's raining, is to spend time on our deck, listening to the bird song, feeling and hearing the breeze through the leaves, giving thanks to God for all His gifts.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
God gives the best gift; every good and perfect gift comes from Him and He has created such a wonderful world! Love your comment about listening to the birds and hearing and feeling the breeze. I am so thankful for those things
DeleteSuch a beautiful post, Cheryl. Nature is so wonderful. It makes you see and feel the things that are important. A walk down a path covered with trees is such a pleasure and to sit alongside a stream or a lake just fills up our souls. I really enjoyed visiting here today..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy
