The Week Before Spring
This is what it looked like at the Parklands today on our winter walk. In the next few weeks it will begin to look much different. There will also be beautiful wildflowers everywhere this summer. That keeps me busy with my camera. It is just one week before Spring officially begins. The last few days have had sunshine, sleet and snow but today it was 52 degrees and sunny so we are getting back to some nicer weather. Tomorrow is suppose to be 62 and it looks like we may make it up to 70 this week. That's life in southern Indiana.
Here is one of the squirrels that came to visit today. I was looking up on google sites about somethings that squirrels can eat and found out they love apples. You just have to make sure to get rid of the core and seeds because they can be like poison to the squirrels. I cut them in slices to make it easier for them. It is also suppose to be good not to feed it too often because of the high sugar content otherwise it is an enjoyable treat for them.
The picture above is my husband with our little grandson Oliver. We went to the park in Owensboro, KY last week. It was the day before the weather got really cold. We love it at the park there by the river and the bridge. In the summer it is so nice. They have something called Friday after Five where there is free outdoor music to listen too at the amp theator. There are pretty fountains and a snack bar and an award winning childrens playground. The photos below that are from sometime in the summer. It's one of our favorite places to go.
These are my non look alike twin granddaughters when They were younger. One of my sons has two sets if twins, the older identical the younger , well as you can see not.....
I'd title the photo, "Sharing is Fun! They sure make it look that way don't you think?
Evensong
"God Speaks to Us in Bird and Song" ~ lyrics by Henry W. Davies
God speaks to us in bird and song,
In winds that drift the clouds along,
Above the din and toil of wrong,
A melody of love.
God speaks to us in far and near,
In peace of home and friends most dear,
From the dim past and present clear,
A melody of love.
God speaks to us in darkest night,
By quiet ways through mornings bright,
When shadows fall with evening light,
A melody of love.
O Voice divine, speak Thou to me,
Beyond the earth, beyond the sea,
First let me hear, then sing to Thee,
A melody of love.
