Sisters
I'm tired tonight. I enjoyed having our little grandson here but it's also nice to relax awhile. I've been texting a lot with my sister and sharing pictures back and forth of all sorts of things. She's my best friend and we laugh and cry together. I hate that we live so far apart but we stay close at heart. Texting is nice sometimes. If she is off work we send each other random notes through the day as well. It's fun! The picture above is my sister and I when we were little. Mom told me I had some kind of bandage on my kneww in it. Thats what the white thing is. I hurt myself I guess.
The picture with mom is the last one we got of the three of us together. Mom passed away a couple months after that picture in January 2021. My sister and I talk a lot about mom, we did just today. My sister has a Christmas cactus that is blooming. I smile at the thought of Christmas in the last week of March. I told her it's a gift from Heaven on a cold snowy Spring day in the U.P. of Michigan. I really do think the Lord has ways of showing us that He cares for us and He knows when we need comfort.
Speaking of sisters there are also people that God blesses us with in our life. They may not be related through birth but they are just as close at heart. Some are there for a season and some have been there for many seasons or even since childhood.
I thank God for the wonderful family and friends that He has blessed me with,
I thank God for the old and the new friends here on Blogger too.
Pictures from when my sister and I were teens and we had the youth group meet at our home. Mom was so awesome to welcome the group. We had so much fun singing and having devotions and prayer,

You are so blessed! I always wanted a sister.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter always wanted a sister too.I have 3 boys 1 girl. She was always close to our youngest son though and now she has a very close lady friend she had since childhood and of course sister in laws.
DeleteI had one brother, and I'd envy my girlfriends who had sisters. So happy to have three granddaughters who will always know the bonds of sisterhood.
ReplyDeleteI lost my mother last year, too, Cheryl; I certainly can commiserate with what your sister and you are going through . . .
Blessings!
Blessings to you also Sorry about the loss of your mom also , yes it is hard I am so thankful for the Lords comfort

ReplyDeleteOh yes so blessed with my sisters in Christ too. You are one of my sweet sisters in Jesus
DeleteI just got off the phone with my sister! Her birthday is next week, and we are trying to figure out when we can all get together to celebrate. At our great ages, we have too many doctor appointments and other things going on to make scheduling an easy thing. Plus, even though she is older than I am, she still works, so there's that to consider too! Anyway, I love the pictures of you and your sister, and especially the one with your precious mother. I know you will treasure that one always. I know I treasure the ones I have with our mother too. Yes, we are blessed to have a sister. I never had a daughter or a granddaughter, but I am happy to have a sister! Great post.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy Birthday to your sister. How nice you live close enough in miles to get together. I treasure the times when I’m with my sister . God bless you
DeleteSisters are the best! I have 2 of them and love spending time together. I'm very blessed that one lives right around the corner from me. And our names? Mari, Terri, Cheri... :)
